Day 2!!

Hola!!
We are at the end of an exhausting, but awesome, second full day here in Managua!! Today we stuck around the Villa and hung out with the girls - playing games, teaching them (those of us who knew) how to knit, doing each others' hair and nails (I am actually writing this while sporting two braids and two ponytails that were interspersed around my head by 9-year-old Brittany), helping them with their homework, etc. Just building relationships with them, learning more about them and letting them learn more about us. The language barrier hasn't been as much of an issue as many of us expected, which is nice. That's something we talked about at Devotions tonight - even though we don't speak each others' language, we can still communicate in many other ways!

The weather has been beautiful! Hot, but not unbearable...yesterday there was a huge thunder and lightning storm. I've never seen it rain that hard and the lightning was just about directly above us. We lost power for a little bit. Today was warm - not rain!

Elisha and Jessica are going to start the interviews with the girls tomorrow, so it's going to be another long day in many ways. Please pray that the girls will be open with them and provide honest answers. It should be a really interesting day.
